the kids are alright

they don't sleep well when she's away, but then four legged children become so dependent on their two legged mother, master and provider, comforter, what must go though their mind when she does not come home at night, or even for several nights... at least they have him, but he is not mom... so they don't let him sleep much as they seek reassurance that she will return and they won't be left completely alone, that the food will be put out twice a day as expected, that walks will happen frequently so his aging bladder does not soil the carpet... he loves them too, so he gives all he can, but fatigue drags him down as he has long days at work and his work children call at all hours as well... he could really use a partner in this life, but alas, he may have no peer, or so he's been told... in any event, the kids are alright...
