he pretends he has friends and is popular as he sits with his laptop on his lap looking at false statisticss for his blogs, looking at photos a few post of him on his facebook, pretending the online world is real and people really care about him... but his phone almost never rings unless it is work or someone else texting because they need something from him... his roommate of six years who calls him her bff sends many texts a day and she cares, but only on the surface... she's never taken the time to get to know him... she's just another person he adopted so he can pretend he has family... all he knows of family is buying and selling closeness by buying things for others, paying bills for others, giving others money... if he disappeared from this world the only people who would notice are the people are work because he wouldn't show up and they'd replace him and move on and the roommate would miss him, but would move in with someone else who will pay most or all of the bills... others would notice over time, weeks or months, but his reality is that he has become so detached from people on a personal basis that no one would feel much loss... no wonder why he pretends life is not like that...
