he stares
he has few needs, food, water, to release waste, to bathe now and then, and love, daily, social love, comfort, attention... he cannot do any of it for himself, except release waste, but he cannot get to where the waste should go on his own, so he needs someone to help him do everything... he cannot speak, at least not words, and he does not make many sounds... he's learned to be silent in his life and yet, he still needs someone to feed him, bathe him, get him where he needs to go when he needs to go... so he stares... he stares and sometimes pants as his bladder or bowel scream for release... he stares knowing that sometimes his staring bothers others, sometimes they yell or even get mad because he is staring... staring does not always get him what he needs, but he has no other choice... he stares hoping to be noticed, hoping for someone to help him, fed him, give him water, take him where he needs to go... he stares hoping someone will notice, pay attention, care about him, love him...
