stop wanting

when she comes in he just wants a little time, a few meaningful moments to prove he matters and is not just a sugar daddy, especially since she keeps promising at least to give him some reassurance that he can trust her and he won't need to support her forever and yet she continues to not follow through on her words... every now and then, every week lately, she says she will show him the changes she is making in her debt issues that have drained his savings and prevent him from even considering retirement and every weekend passes with her forgetting her promises... he just gets sadder and more withdrawn and she may prefer it that way for it gives her more power to do as she pleases... she is addicted to spending money without thought of consequences and shows no financial responsibility and he has enabled her for years, so he gets what he deserves somehow... the bare xmas tree stands in the living room slowly shedding it's bristles and the piles of paper and clothes and junk are everywhere and she hates that, but she does not address the reasons for him letting the space go like this... the clutter reflect his waiting and uncertainty... she'd rather not face her role in his depression... he just needs to stop wanting anything and everything will be alright...
